Privacy & data handling

Your information stays with us.

Families trust us with details about their children, sometimes including diagnoses and school reports. None of that is ever collected through this website. This page explains what we do ask for online, and what happens to everything you tell us.

The short version

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise share your personal information with third parties. There is no advertising network, no analytics tracker, no social media pixel and no marketing tool embedded in this website.

This site sets no cookies and runs no tracking scripts. You can browse it without creating any record of your visit beyond the standard server logs our hosting provider keeps for security and reliability.

What the enquiry form does

The booking and enquiry form on our home page asks only for a student name, your contact details, and when you would prefer sessions to run. It is not submitted to a server. When you press send, the details you typed are placed into a draft message in your own email application, addressed to us. Nothing is transmitted anywhere until you choose to send that email yourself.

That means your information never passes through a form-handling service, a customer relationship platform, or any other intermediary. It travels from your email account to ours.

We do not ask about diagnoses online

Our enquiry form deliberately collects nothing beyond contact details and scheduling preferences. It does not ask about diagnosed learning difficulties, disabilities, school reports or anything else of that nature, and there is no free-text box inviting you to volunteer it.

Where a student has particular learning needs, we discuss them with you directly once we are in touch — by phone or in person, at a point where you can see who you are talking to and decide how much detail is useful. Anything you tell us then is used solely to match your child with an appropriate tutor and to plan their sessions.

Talking to schools and other providers

We liaise with schools, paediatricians, occupational therapists, speech therapists and developmental psychologists only where you have given us explicit permission to do so. The enquiry form asks for that permission separately, and you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.

How long we keep information

We retain enquiry and student records only for as long as we are working with a family, plus the period required to meet our tax and legal obligations. After that, records are deleted.

How this website is protected

The site is served exclusively over an encrypted HTTPS connection, with HTTP Strict Transport Security enabled so browsers refuse to connect any other way. A strict Content Security Policy prevents the page from loading resources from, or sending data to, any domain other than our own.

Fonts and images are hosted by us rather than loaded from an external content delivery network, so your IP address and browser details are not disclosed to a third party simply by opening the page. Browser features we do not need — camera, microphone, location, and advertising interest APIs — are switched off at the page level.

Your rights

You may ask us what information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to thelearningcollectiveperth@gmail.com and we will respond promptly.

If you believe we have mishandled your information, you may also raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
